Mymensingh, March 26 – Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed the Independence Day on Sunday in a befitting manner.
To mark the day, national flag was hoisted in front of the all offices and residential halls of the university.Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Ali Akbar to pay tribute to the liberation war martyrs in 1971 placed floral wreaths accompanied by teachers , students, officers, employees and various socio-cultural organizations at the “Muktijoddha Smiriti Stamba” (Liberation War Memorial) on the occasion of the National and Independence day.
In honor of the martyrs, all observed one minute silence in front of the “Muktijoddha Smiriti Stamba”.
Earlier on, at 8 am military parade and physical exercise was also held at university auditorium.
Friendly sports competition organized by residential halls in their respective sports ground, cultural & poem recitation program was also held on the campus.
The university authorities also organized prayers to the mosques and mandirs for the liberation martyrs at noon. – BAU Correspondent
