Bangladesh Chhatra League, ruling Awami League’s student associate on Saturday evening expelled its Rajshahi University president for violating BCL discipline and his feuds that led to several factional clashes.
BCL central president Saifur Rahman Sohag confirmed the news over phone on Saturday evening.He said that the expulsion of unit president Mizanur Rahman Rana was decided at a meeting of central committee for violating the party’s discipline and his indirect involvement with beating up two activists of BCL on campus on Saturday.
The vice-president Rashedul Islam Ranju, masters student of accounting and information system department, was made the acting president of the university unit, he also said.
Rashedul Islam Ranju told that the central committee informed him that he had been made the acting secretary of RU unit.
Earlier, a clash between two group of BCL happened in the campus. – RU Correspondent
