Dhaka, June 22 – A Bangladeshi youth sustained bullet injuries in his stomach as Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on a group of cattle traders at Rotnai frontier in Baliadangi upazila of Thakurgaon district on Thursday morning.The victim was identified as Lutfullah, 27, son of Alimuddin of Dholai-Bashbari village of the upazila.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Thakurgaon Battalion-30 commander Lieutenant Colonel Khademul Basher said a group of cattle traders went to India from Bangladesh through the Rotnai frontier located between the pillars No 382 and 383 on Wednesday night.
BSF men opened fire on them while they were returning to Bangladesh with Indian cattle, leaving Lutfullah bullet-wounds.
However, the other members of the group managed to flee the scene, said the BGB official, adding that Lutfullah was admitted to Islampur Hospital of India.
He also said necessary steps will be taken after getting information from company commander about the incident. – UNB
