BNCC training camp begins in Rajshahi

A 14-day annual training course of Mohasthan Regiment of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) began at the playground of Bangladesh Postal Academy in Rajshahi city yesterday.A total of 386 cadets including 64 females from 75 educational institutions in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions are taking part in the training.Besides, some army officers, territorial force officers, professor under officers and teacher are participating at the course.
Main thrust of the training is to enhance moral and mental strength of the cadets along with equipping them with discipline and leadership characteristics. Commander of Mohashthan Regiment Lt Col Iqbal Hossain, who inaugurated the course as the chief guest, urged the cadets to involve themselves in the nation building activities in a disciplined manner by making the good use of the knowledge to be gained during the training. Besides, he said the BNCC members could play a pivotal role in protecting the country’s independence and sovereignty. He said the training would help the BNCC members build a disciplined lifestyle both in working and academic life. They should work relentlessly with the motto of building the youths as competent future leaders to carry forward the nation’s hopes and aspirations to the coveted goal, he added. ‘You have a vital role to play to prevent the youngsters from various social crimes like drug-addiction and eve-teasing,’ he said, adding that the society could be built as healthy and sound through their noble efforts. He called for devoting themselves towards building a prosperous Bangladesh. In the course, the cadets will be imparted training on physical, drill, leadership, military discipline, liberation war history, war tactics and armory side by side with various social development activities to help them get prepared to face any calamity.
