Speakers at a rally have stressed for launching vigorous movement against social erosion, unhealthy culture, pornography, drug abuse, gambling, rape, human trafficking and repression and violence against women.
District unit of Bangladesh Narimukti Kendra (BNK) organised the post protest procession human chain and rally at Katchari Bazar here on Monday afternoon to create mass public awareness against all sorts of social erosion for building a peaceful society.With member of district committee of BNK Alo Begum in the chair, Coordinator of district Convention Preparation Committee of Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (BSD) Anwar Hossain Bablu addressed the rally as the main discussant.Member of the district Convention Preparation Committee of BSD Polash Kanti Nag, Organisers of Rangpur unit of BNK Kamrunnahar Khanom Shikha, Nandini Das and Fahmida Haque, addressed among others.Earlier, hundreds of the women leaders and activists of BNK from all over the district carrying placards, banners and festoons took part in the protest procession that was brought out in the city streets against social erosion.The speakers strongly protested against the spread of unhealthy and bad culture, gambling, drug abuse, pornography, rape and acid attack, violence against women, sexual harassment and violence being conducted by the anti-liberation forces.They called for banning of the anti-liberation and religion- based communal politics and bringing an end to these curses through changing social attitude to ensure security to the womenfolk for accelerating national uplift activities without any hindrance.They stressed for involving the common people, civil society members, public representatives, politicians, community leaders, teachers, socio-cultural and professional activists for ending all sorts of social erosion, repression and violence against women. -BSS, Rangpur
