BNP alleged Govt. is detaining their leaders

BNP yesterday alleged that the government has started detaining its leaders and activists again in different districts and upazilas (sub-district) ahead of party reorganisation process.
“We are observing with grave concern that the government that not yet shifted from its policy to suppress the views of the opposition. We condemn the government initiative to limit the activities of the opposition politics further,” said BNP spokesperson Dr Asaduzzaman Ripon in a statement.

As part of the move, he said, police arrested general secretary of Jessore district unit BNP Saberul Haq Sabu, organising secretary of Kishoreganj BNP Haji Israil Mia and general secretary of Kishoreganj Swechchhasebak Dal Shamim Ahmed on Sunday night.

Besides, were have received allegations that law enforcers raided the houses of leaders of BNP and its front organizations in different districts to arrest them.

The BNP leader demanded the government immediately release those were arrested and called for not to harass the party leaders and activists.
