Dhaka – BNP standing committee member Lt Gen (retd) Mahbubur Rahman and his wife were injured in a road accident in Dinajpur on Saturday.Mahbub, also a former army chief, was taken to Dinajpur Heart Foundation and kept at its ICU, said his sister Jinnat Ara.She said doctors told them that the BNP leader is out of danger.Jinnat said her sister-in-law who was slightly injured also received treatment at the hospital.She said Mahubu went to his father-in-law’s house in Thakurgaon from her Dinajpur residence in the morning to take his wife back to Dhaka.As he along with his wife were coming to Saidpur Airport from Thakurgaon, the private car carrying them collided with a Nasiman (human hauler) at Doshmail on Thakurgaon-Dinajpur Highway around 3:20pm, leaving the couple injured.Local people got them out of the car and took to the hospital.Jinnat said Mahub got hurt in his head, chest and hands.UNB
