BNP won’t leave Jamaat’s side:Qamrul

The BNP will never be able to leave the side of its long-time ally Jamaat-e-Islami, says Food Minister Qamrul Islam.“Even if the BNP ever says they will break ties with Jamaat, it will mean that they are hatching a new strategy to execute their conspiracy,” Islam said on Friday.“I have seen newspaper reports that said BNP is going to leave Jamaat’s side. I also heard similar rumours. But I don’t believe in anyway that they will do it in the end.”
“But if they do break alliance with Jamaat, it will be a new plot,” he said while addressing a discussion at the party’s Bangabandhu Avenue headquarters. The joint general secretary of the Awami League’s Dhaka Metropolitan unit alleged that the BNP was ‘still conspiring’.“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is still not safe. The foreigners have been killed to taint all her achievements. We must strongly stand against this,” he added.
