Bogra Shia mosque attack accused killed in ‘gunfight’

Bogra- An accused in the attack on a Shia mosque in Bogra was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police at Haripur village in Shibganj upazila early Wednesday.The deceased identified as Kawsar was an alleged member of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB),UNB News Agency Reported.Assistant Superintendent of Police Gaziur Rahman of Bogra said a team of police went to Haripur village to arrest Kawsar in the morning.Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, Kawsar fired shots at them forcing them to retaliate when one of the bullets hit Kawar, leaving him dead on the spot.On November 26, 2015, a group of 4-5 unidentified gunmen stormed a Shia mosque at Haripur village and opened fire on the devotees while they were offering their maghrib prayers, leaving four of them,
including its muezzin, injured.Later, the muezzin succumbed to his injuries.
