Bomb explodes in Dhaka judicial magistrate court

Unidentified miscreants exploded a remote controlled bomb on the veranda of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court building of Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.
Assistant Commissioner Aminul Islam of the Prosecution Department of the court has told newsmen after the incident, that the explosion occurred at about 4:20 pm in front of the courtroom 31 at the ground floor, where Magistrate Musod Zaman of the CMM Court conducts his court. As the court was not is session and the judge was not present in the courtroom no casualties occured in the explosion, he added.Meanwhile, Lalbagh Zone’s Assistant Commissioner Mofiz Uddin Ahmed of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) informed the media people, a rapped polythene bag containing some substances was recovered from the spot. However, no dangerous and powerful element was found in the bag. Perhaps, miscreants kept the bag there to create panic among the people.
Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha visited the spot.
Scores of police including members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have been deployed in the area after the explosion, police sources confirmed. – Court Correspondent
