Dhaka – A rickshaw-puller along with his female passenger was killed when a passanger bus hit on the rickshaw at Bangabhaban crossing in the city on Wednesday.The victims were identified as Nur Jahan Begum, 55, an employee of Butter Fly, a multi-national company, head office of Motijheel, and Khokon Mia, 40, the rickshaw-puller.
Police quoting family members of the female victim and witnesses said Nur Jahan, hailed from Rangamati, came out from his Keranigonj rented house in the morning and she was going to her motijheel office by a rickshaw.
When she reached at Bangbhaban crossing at around 7:30 am, a passenger bus of BTCL Paribahan pushed the rickshaw from rear side.
The rickshaw puller Khokon Mia died on the spot, while Nur Jahan succumbed to her injuries when she was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 8:20 am.
The bodies were sent to DMCH morgue for postmortem. – News Desk
