A Dhaka court on Thursday deferred until August 25 the charge-framing hearing against four bloggers in two cases filed for posting “derogatory comments about Islam and Prophet Muhammad (SM)” on the Internet.Metropolitan Session’s Judge M Zahurul Haque passed the order in the presence of three bloggers — Moshiur Rahman Biplab, Subrata Adhikary Shuvo and Rasel Parvez – who are now out on bail.
The court also granted bail to Asif Mohiuddin.
Detective Branch of police arrested the four bloggers for posting “derogatory write-ups about Islam and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)” on the Internet.
Of them Asif was arrested on April 3 while the rest on April 2.
Police filed two cases -– one against Asif and the other against Shuvo, Biplab and Parvez –- under the Information Communication Technology Act 2006 on April 17.
Shuvo is a student of Bangla Department at Dhaka University while Biplab and Rasel are former DU students. (Source: UNB)
