Charge hearing against Fakhrul: 35 others in arso0n case Oct 19

A Dhaka court on Monday fixed October 19 to hear on framing charge against BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and 36 other party men in a case filed for arson attack and burning people to death on November 30, 2013 in Malibagh area of the capital.
Investigation Officer of the case, Dipak Kumar Das, a Sub-Inspector of Detective Branch, submitted the charge sheet of the case against BNP leader Fakhrul and others on 30 August.Other accused of the case include: BNP Standing Committee members Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Mirza Abbas, Vice-Chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka, Joint Secretaries general Amanullah Aman, Barkat Ullah Bulu, and Salauddin Ahmed, Jamaat-e-Islami Acting Secretary General Shafiqur Rahman and Jamaat leader Safiqul Islam.
The Investigation Officer pleaded arrest warrant against Mirza Fakhrul and 28 other accused people showing them fugitive. Seven accused people are in jail while another is on bail in the case.
In the capital’s Malibagh Chowdhury Para area, businessman Habibur Rahman, 35, was killed and five others injured as a bus crushed two rickshaws being chased by picketers with crude bombs on 30 November, 2013. – Special Correspondent
