Dhaka, Sept 3 – The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is going to submit the charge sheet over the death of two college students by this week.
A DB official said yesterday that the charge sheet will be submitted before a Dhaka court accusing six persons over the death the road accident on the capital’s Airport Road on July 29. The charge sheet will be submitted against Masum Billah, Zobair Sumon, and Sohag- drivers of three buses of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan, two helpers-Enayet and Ripon, and Noor Shahadat Hossain, owner of the bus that killed the two students, Abdul Baten, joint commissioner of the DB, told newsmen reporters at the DMP Media Centre in Dhaka’s Minto Road yesterday.
On July 29, two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin College of Cantonment- Abdul Karim alias Rajib Uddin, 18 and Dia Khanam Mim, 17 were run over and killed by a bus during the alleged mad race between two buses on the Airport Road.
Of the arrestees, bus driver Masum and owner Shahadat gave confessional statements under section 164 of the Criminal Proceedings (CrPC) before the court.
Dia’s father filed the case with Cantonment Police Station in connection with the accident. – Special Court Correspondent
