Dhaka – A college teacher was found dead at his residence at Sher-e-Bangla Road in the city on Sunday noon.The deceased was identified as Chitta Ranjan Bain, 45, son of Lalita Mohan Bain of Ashashuni upazila of Satkhira. He was an assistant professor of English Department of Shaheed Abul Kshem College in Batiaghata upazila.Colleagues of Chitta Ranjan called him several times over phone as he didn’t go to the college in the morning, said Aminul Islam Shwapan, principle of the college.As they didn’t find any response from Chitta Ranjan despite repeated phone calls, they went to his residence around 12pm, said Officer-in-charge of Khulan Police Station Shafiqul Islam.On information, police came and entered the room breaking open the door and found the teacher’s body lying on the floor, the OC added.Police also found a window of the room broken and they are suspecting that someone entered the room in the night and strangled the teacher to death, the OC added.UNB
