Communications Minister Obaidul Quader categorically said fund for Padma Bridge construction would be ensured by February at any cost.
He came up with the determination while talking to journalists during a visit at an under-construction bridge on Surma River in the district on Saturday morning.
The minister also expressed his hope regarding World Bank funding in the much-talked project.
Obaidul said, “Alternative funding for Padma Bridge is in our hands. But I cannot disclose it for strategic reason. The funding will be ensured by February.”
The minister asked concerned authorities to complete the Kazirbabzar Bridge on Surma River by October.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will open the bridge and Sunamganj Bridge on Sylhet-Sunamganj road to traffic in October,” he added.banglanews24.com
