The Bangladesher Samyabadi Dal in a statement to the press on Thursday expressed its concern at the loss of life and property in blockade and hartal for several weeks. It blamed the government for its stubbornness in not accepting the demand for election under a neutral government.
Samyabadi Dal (Rebel group) said that the political confrontation over the mode of holding the next general elections has not only cost life and property of the people but also brought the nation the brink of a cvil war.
The party recalled past democratic movements and said the current movement has elicited mass participation and should be led to a successful conclusion, the statement signed by Kazi Kamal said.
