Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized Indian contraband items worth about Tk3 crore from Putkhali and Baro Achra borders in Benapole on Friday.The seized goods include 160 pieces of costly sarees, two motorcycles, five sacks of jewellery (imitation) and various types of fruits and food items. BGB Putkhali camp commander Subedar Shafiuddin Hawlader said a team of the border force, on a tip-off, conducted a drive in the Bangladesh-India bordering area in the afternoon and seized the smuggled goods. The market value of the seized items would be around Tk 3 crore, the commander added. -UNB, Benapole (Jessore)
