Country not safe in Hasina and Khaleda’s hands: Manna

Convenor of Nagorik Oikyo (NAO) central  committee Mahmudur Rahman
Manna said that the country is now not safe in the hands of the
country’s two top leaders —Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia, so it is
the appropriate time to create “third political force” to ensure
security of the people, establish their democratic rights and to end
the politics of violence.
“ Now the people of the country do not want to see the political trend
of power struggle between the two leaders,   but they want to see
healthy and peaceful   political trend for consolidating  democracy
and establishing all the basic rights of the people including their
democratic rights and human rights” , Manna said while he was
addressing a press conference at Mohila college road  residence of the
organization’s local leader here today.
The NAO Netrakona district unit called the press conference after
failing to hold a meeting at Netrakona press club road as the district
administration did not give  permission for holding the meeting there
in presence of the NAO central leaders.
The NAO central leaders including SM Akram, Mohammad Masudul Haque and
Shahidullah Kaiser also addressed in the press conference where local
leaders of the organization were also present.
Replying to a question, Manna said the present government has already
failed to improve the life style of the common people and keep the
prices of the essential commodities within the people’s purchasing
capacity as well as to uphold the people’s democratic rights.
Responding to another question, Manna said that they can form a third
political party  if the country’s people want to do so.
