Police arrested a couple along with bomb making materials from Rasulpur residential area under Bakalia Police Station in the city following a ‘mysterious’ explosion inside a building early Wednesday.
The arrestees were identified as Sheikh Asadullah, a resident of the area, and his wife Asmaul Husnah.Officer-in-charge of the police station Mohsin said an explosion occurred mysteriously in a room on the ground floor of a two-storey building in the area at about 1:00am.However, none was injured in the explosion.On information, a team of police conducted a raid at the house and arrested the couple.Later, police recovered one kg gun powder, 15 pieces of match and some broken glasses from the house, added the OC.Recently, three students were killed and two others sustained burn injuries in a ‘mysterious’ explosion in a room on the 1st floor of a four-storey building that houses a hostel of madrasah students at Lalkhan Bazar in the city.UNB, Chittagong
