Court to hear Khaleda’s statement on June 16

Dhaka-The Third Special Judge Court of Dhaka on Thursday decided to hear the statement of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman and four others in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on June 16. Judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar of the court fixed the date on Thursday, after recording the depositions of witnesses. Four more prosecution witnesses testifed on Thursday against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and others in the graft case. The case is being tried by a makeshift court set up at Bakhshibazar in the city amid tight security.
On July 3, 2008, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case with Ramna Police Station against six persons, including Begum Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman.-Special Correspondent
