CPB, SPB against 2-party polarisation

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) on Sunday called for people’s unity to get rid of political polarisation centering the two major parties and the alliances they are leading. “People need to reject the politics of two parties, alliances, or grand alliances. To get the country back on the track of the Liberation War, an alternative position of the left and democratic forces must be forged against the two-party polarisation,” said a joint statement by the two left political parties.   The statement, signed by CPB president Mujahidul Islam Selim and SPB general secretary Khalequzzaman, said, “People are paying the price of the recent violent and unstable situation created by the bourgeoisies. People need to get united to protest the politics of conflicts and violence.”   CPB and SPB also observed that the anti-liberation Jamaat-Shibir bracket is taking the advantage of the existing political crisis to create chaos by conducting various criminal activities’.   The anti-liberation forces are trying to foil the trial of crimes against humanity by creating chaos, they added. – UNB
