Fakhrul sued in case on Malibagh bus attack

Police have filed a case against senior BNP leaders including Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir over Saturday’s bus attack in the capital’s Malibagh which left one dead.Assistant Commissioner (Ramna) of Police Shibly Noman said that the case was filed with Ramna Police Station by sub-inspector Jahirul Islam past midnight on Saturday.
The case named 15 persons including senior BNP leaders, instigating the attack.
Another 25 to 30 unidentified persons have been accused, said AC Noman.
Mirza Fakhrul, BNP Vice-Chairman Sadek Hossain Khoka, Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, Join Secretaries General Aman Ullah Aman, Barkatullah Bulu and Salahuddin Ahmed and Metropolitan BNP’s Member Secretary Abdus Salam have been charged for instigating the attack.
According to the case details, BNP’s student front Chhatra Dal’s (JCD) President Abdul Quader Bhuiyan Jewel, JCD Joint General Secretary Obaidul Haque Nasir, Dhaka University (DU) unit JCD president Muhidul Islam Hiru, DU unit JCD’s General Secretary Masud Rana, BNP’s youth affiliate Juba Dal leaders Saiful Islam Nirob and Mamun Hasan, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Secretary General Shafikur Rahman and former Islami Chhatra Shibir president Masud have been accused of instigating, abetting and financing the attack.
Ramna BNP unit Juba Dal and JCD leaders have been also named in the case.
