The authorities of Chittagong University on Wednesday suspended eight students for different terms over fraud charges.
The decision was made at a meeting of Board of Residence Health and Disciplinary committee of the university, said proctor Niaz Murshed Ripon.
H M G Ishtiaque Ahmed of Marketing Department (session 2010-11), Mohammad Shariful Islam Nazmul of English Department (2012-2013), Raihanul Haque, and Mohammad Shahidullah of Institute of Education and Research (2012-2013) have been suspended for one year over fraudulence in admission test.
Besides, Julkernain, of IER and Saddam Hossain, of Arabic Department (session 2013-2014) have been suspended for two years for their involvement in admitting a student with fake papers.
Meanwhile, Shahidul Islam and Saidul Islam of Economics department have been suspended for two years for giving proxy in internal examinations of the department.
