The 7th D-8 meeting of ‘Working Group on Civil Aviation and Directors General’ concluded here on Thursday with an emphasis on strengthening bilateral cooperation among the member states.They identified the development of infrastructure in Civil Aviation, training of Air Traffic Controllers, training of flight crew and aircraft maintenance personnel, training of aviation safety inspectors and exchange of technical expertise as areas of cooperation.
After the meeting, Chairman, Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Mahmud Hussain has been unanimously selected as the Chairman of D-8 WGCA Forum for one year (2013-2014).
Before that Joyce Daniel Nkemakolum from Nigeria was the Chairman of D-8 WGCA Forum.
The D-8 is a platform of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Iran and Turkey. (Source: UNB)
