Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation on Sunday fixed the prices of beef and mutton for the upcoming Ramadan. As per the new chart, meat of local cow will be sold at Tk 275 per kg and that of foreign cow and buffalo at Tk 260 a kg. The price of mutton was fixed at Tk 450 per kg and that of sheep at 390 per kg.
The prices were fixed at a meeting between representatives of two Dhaka city corporations and meat traders at Nagar Bhaban in the capital.
After the meeting, chief executive officer of Dhaka North City Corporation BM Enamul Haque said two mobile courts will operate in the city to check frauds regarding meat selling.
In the last Ramadan, per kg meat of the local variety was also fixed Tk 275 and that of foreign cattle at Tk 260, mutton at Tk 425 and buffalo meat at Tk 250. (Source: UNB)
