DHAKA, April 18, 2018 – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the demand of deploying army for local government elections is illogical.
“BNP did not deploy army in any election when the party was in power…Now BNP’s demand for deploying army in local government polls is illogical,” he told journalists while visiting the activities of a mobile court in city’s Hatirjheel area.
Quader said the Election Commission is in the charge of holding elections and the government is ready to extend all cooperation to it.
Regarding the death of college student Rajib Hossain following a bus accident, Quader urged the drivers to be more cautious. -BSS
