Dhaka, July 3 – The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Tuesday fixed July 31 for submission of the probe report in the case filed over the murder of Jagriti Prokashoni publisher Faisal Arefin Dipon.Magistrate Ahsan Habib passed the order as the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case could not submit the probe report on Tuesday.
On October 31, 2015, two blogger publishers Faisal Arefin Dipon, publisher of Jagriti Prokashoni and Ahmedur Rashid Tutul were hacked brutally in two separate places of the city.
Later, Dipon, proprietor of Jagriti Prakashani, succmed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital while Tutul, owner of Shuddhashwar, survived the attack.
Later, the victim’s wife Razia Rahman filed the murder case with Ramna Model Police Station. Dipon was the only son of Dhaka University’s Bangla Department’s retired Professor Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque. – Special Correspondent
