A mobile court on Tuesday convicted four persons and sentenced them to different jail
terms on charge of taking drugs and gambling.
The convicts are Moksed Ali, 45, son of Mozahar Ali, Akterul Islam, 35, son of Abdul
Gafur of Gachhabari village, Mofazzal Hossain, 45, son of Abdul Aziz and Mosidul
Islam, 38, son of Montu Miah of Silmanerpara village under the same upazila.
Acting on a tip off, Saghata thana police, in separate drives, at Barconal Bazar and
Gachhabari of the upazila held two drug addicts and two gamblers.
Later, the arrested were produced before the mobile court led by executive magistrate and
UNO Abdul Awal, who handed down the verdict after examining the witnesses. -BSS,
