Police arrested an upazila-level nayeb-e-ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami from Perul
village in Sadar Dakshin upazila on Tuesday.
The arrestee was identified as Sarwar Kamal, nayeb-e-ameer of Sadar Dakshin upazila
unit of Jamaat.
Ainul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sadar Dakshin Police Station, said Sarwar was arrested
from his village home in the afternoon, on charge of creating anarchy in the upazila
during the last hartal enforced by the party.
He was wanted by police in six cases, added the OC. -UNB, Comilla
