Drug ‘peddler’ held with hemp in Magura

Police in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 300
grams of hemp from Majhail village in Sreepur upazila on Friday night.
The arrestee was identified as Masud Molla, 35, son of Salahuddin
Molla, resident of Bagbari village in the upazila.
Biplob Kumar Nath, officer-in-charge of Sreepur police station, said,
being tipped off, they conducted a drive on the Khulna-Dhaka Highway
near the Kamarkhali bridge in the area at night and arrested Masud
along with 300 grams of hemp.
However, accomplices of Masud managed to flee the scene.
Masud confessed to police that he had been peddling drugs for long in the area.
Police produced him before a court after filing a case. -UNB, Magura
