The organogram committee, headed by the Chief Election Commissioner, will sit in a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the proposal for upgrading 301 Upazila election officials in terms of pay scale. Earlier, the Election Commission Secretariat prepared the proposal for upgrading the 301 upazila election officials across the country from the ninth grade to the sixth grade of the current pay scale. “The meeting will be held at the commission secretariat tomorrow (Wednesday) to discuss a proposal to upgrade the field-level election officials,” Election Commissioner Md Shah Nawaz told UNB on Tuesday. Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad is the chairman of the committee, while EC secretary Dr Mohammad Sadik is its member secretary. Four election commissioners — Mohammad Abdul Mobarak, Md Shah Nawaz, Abu Hafiz and Brig Gen (retd) Zabed Ali – and at least two officials (no less than additional secretary) of the Public Administration Ministry and the Finance Ministry will be present at the meeting as members of the committee.
