Fahim’s killing was a managed incident: Khaleeda

Dhaka-BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia yesterday alleged that suspected militant Faizullah Fahim was not died in crossfire but he was killed by police after taking him into custody and shielding with his handcuffs.“It was a totally managed incident. He (Fahim) was not died in crossfire but he was killed. Police was involved in the killing and it means that Hasina was involved in it as she is the home minister (Asaduzzaman Khan is the current home minister). We want to say that the trial of the innocent killing should tried,” she said while speaking at an iftar mahfil at a city hotel in Gulshan.
Labour Party, an ally of the BNP-led 20-party alliance organized the iftar mahfil with its president Mostafizur Rahman Iran in the chair.
The former premier alleged that FaAwami League, Chhatra League and police are involved in the crimes taking place in the country.
“Ordinary people and BNP leaders and activists are being repressed. They are not getting justice and treatment in the prisons. The BNP leaders and activists are arrested from the prison gate after they are released,” she further alleged.
Khaleda also accused the government of carrying our repression on opposition leaders and activists including that of BNP in the name of crackdown.
She said the BNP is carrying out movement not to be prime minister, minister of MP but to reestablish the democracy in the country.
Altaf Hossain Chowdhury, Selima Rahman and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury of BNP, Selim Uddin of Jamaat, Shafiul Alam Prodhan of Jagpa, Jebel Rahman Ghani of NAP, among others, were present at the function.-STAFF REPORTER
