Fakhrul leaves for Singapore Sunday for better treatment

The ailing BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will leave Dhaka for Singapore on Sunday for better treatment.
He will leave Shahjalal International Airport tonight on a Singapore Airlines flight, according to sources.
The BNP leader is likely to meet party chairperson Khaleda Zia before leaving Dhaka. Earlier, he met the party chief at her Gulshan residence on July 15 and informed her about his health condition.When contacted Fakhrul also confirmed that he is going to Singapore today for treatment.
“I will go to Singapore tomorrow, Inshallah. I will visit my doctor at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and decide the course of my treatment,” he said.
The BNP leader has carried out extensive medical check ups and tests relating to his nervous system in his neck and some other health related problems for the last couple of days.
Doctors suggested that he should go aboard for higher treatment,” said one of his closed aides.
He said Fakhrul has kept him aloof from all kinds of political activities since he was freed on bail by the Appellate Division on July 14 in consideration of his ill health and treatment.
The BNP leader was released from the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital after six months of his arrest.
He was detained from the Jatiya Press Club on January 6, and later, was shown arrested in seven cases.  – Staff Reporter
