Mymensingh, July 24 – Fisheries faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) observed ‘National Fisheries week-2018’ with much enthusiasm and amid festivity on Tuesday at the university campus. A colorful rally was inaugurated by BAU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Jasimuddin Khan entitled with ‘Country self-sufficiency in Fish, Bangabandhus’ Bangladesh’ parading main streets of the campus which ended at Brahmaputra River side.
After the rally, fish fries was releasing near at Brahmaputra River by the teachers and students of the faculty with Pro-VC.
A seminar was also held at Syed Nazrul Islam Bhavan of the university inaugurated at 11am.
BAU Pro-Vice Chancellor attended the seminar as a chief guest while Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI) director of treasurer & administration Dr Md Khalilur Rahman as a special guest.
BAU fisheries faculty dean Prof Dr Gias Uddin presided over the program. Dr AKM Nowsad Alam presented the key speech as a keynote speaker. – BAU Correspondent
