Five held with arms, Phensidyl in Sirajganj

Police in separate drives arrested five men along with one revolver
and 1,665 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Bangabandhu Bridge
area of the district early Saturday.

Mehidi Hasan said a gang of robbers tried to loot an Enayetpur-bound
cattle laden truck from Jessore in Sadanandapur area of Sirajganj
Sadar upazila around 4.00am.
Sensing the attempt, a petrol team of police fired five rounds of
bullet targeting the robbers, when they managed to flee the scene
leaving their firearms.
Later, police recovered one foreign made revolver and one round bullet
from the spot.
On the other hand, a team of Bangabandhu Bridge (West) thana police
seized 1,330 bottles of Phensidyl after searching a Dhaka-bound truck
from Hili port and arrested a man named Liton , 40, of Panchbibi
upazila of Joypurhat from the truck at about 3.00am.  The team
arrested four men—Parvez, 32, Ziaur, 28, Kabir Hossain, 35, and
Sharif, 33– along with 330 bottles of Phensidyl after searching their
car.
Two separate cases were filed with Bangabandhu Bridge (West) Police Station.
