Four doctors suspended for skipping duty

Dhaka – Seven government doctors were suspended on Sunday for skipping duty, the Health and Family Welfare Ministry said.
The doctors are medical officer of Shibpur upazila health complex of Narsingdi district M Razib Mahmud, Dr Ashfaq Nabi, assistant surgeon Dr Mohammad Mahmudul Kabir Bashar of Jessore Sub health center under Shibpur upazila, Polash upazila health complex junior consultant Dr Pobina Afroz Parvin and Gozaria sub health center medical officer Dr Nahida Begum, assistant surgeon Dr M Sharif Ahmed and Danga sub health center assistant surgeon Dr Nurunnahar.Health Ministry Joint Secretary Basudeb Ganguly and another senior heath ministry official Dr M Shahnewaz found the doctors absent on Thursday during a surprise visit to their offices.
The suspension came following an order from Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim, the ministry said.
Another three doctors were suspended in Mymensingh last week for similar offence. – UNB
