Unidentified miscreants slaughtered four of a family including wife and brother-in-law of Pirojpur UP chairman in Sonargaon upazila of the district early Saturday.The deceased were identified as Shamima Akter, 45, wife of UP chairman Rafiqul Islam, his brother-in-law Rana, 25 and two domestic helps Moni, 20 and Rekha, 22.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, Sonargaon Thana Officer-in-Charge Atikur Rahman said, “Locals informed police that no one of the house was responding. Police rushed there and found four slaughtered bodies after breaking into the room.”
They might have been killed at midnight and police detained night guard Abdus Sattar in this connection, he added. banglanews24.com
