Dhaka, Feb 24 – Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozemmel Haque on Sunday told parliament that the government would publish a full list of the freedom fighters of the country’s War of Liberation in 1971 by March 26 this on Sunday.
The minister disclosed this while responding to a written question by ruling Awami League lawmaker Mir Mostaque Ahmed Robi as the sitting of the day began at 4:50 pm with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
He mentioned that the government prepared lists of the veteran freedom fighters, who fought for the war of liberation in 1971 in different times to publish a full list after scrutiny these lists.
The government will publish the full list of freedom fighters after reviewing the lists particularly Indian list, civil gazette, shaheed civil gazette, armed forces shaheed gazette, shaheed BGB gazette, war
wounded gazette, award recipient gazette, Mujibnagar gazette, BCS senior officers gazette, BBCS gazette, army gazette, air force gazette, navy gazette, navy commando gazette, BGB gazette, police
gazette, Ansar gazette, Swadhin Bangla Betar gazette, birongona gazette, shwadhin bangle football team gazette, NAP communist party Chhatra Union special guerilla bahini gazette, Lal Mukti Barta, Indian list of freedom fighters, Indian list (Padma), Indian list (Meghna), war wounded (border guard) Bangladesh) Gazette, Indian list of freedom list (sector), Bisramganj Hospital freedom fighters gazette and war wounded army gazette, said the minister.
Replying to a supplementary question from ruling party lawmaker Shamim Osman, the minister told the parliament that the government is working to prepare a proper list of Rajakars, al-shams and al-Badar who backed then occupied Pakistani forces during the war of liberation.
He accused the then BNP-Jamaat government to remove away the list of Rajakars, al shams and al Badar from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The minister said they would prepare and publish a proper list of Rajakars, al shams and al Badar in future so that innocent people are not blamed unjustly. – Staff Reporter
