The government has planned to honour civilians with gallantry award for their heroic role in the War of Liberation, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque told Parliament on Wednesday.
Taking part in the general discussions on thanksgiving motion on President’s speech, the minister said his ministry is preparing to place a proposal in the Cabinet to honour the organisers of Liberation War who had fought under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the national and district levels.He said the War of Liberation did not happen overnight as it reached the extreme level gradually in which many organisers had played their glorious role.
Mozammel Haque also said the government is thinking of constructing a ‘monument of hate’ in the names of Razakars so that people from all walks of life can express their hatred against them.
He said monuments will also be built across the country to pay respect to the war heroes. – UNB
