Ganojagoron Manch protest against Pak resolution continues

Ganojagoron Manch on Friday called upon the countrymen to boycott Pakistani products.  The Manch will carry out a week-long campaign across the country urging the people to boycott the products made in Pakistan.The programme was announced from a rally of Ganojagoron Manch, a youth group that raised voice against war criminals, at Shahbagh Projanma Square in the afternoon.
As part of the programme, the Manch will submit memorandums to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs separately on Sunday demanding severe the diplomatic relation with Pakistan and taking action against police personnel who charged batons on its activists while they were carrying out a procession towards Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka on Thursday.
The Manch gave a seven-day ultimatum to the government to provide punishment against police personnel who charged batons on its activists.
Announcing the programme, Maruf Rasul, one of the leading organizers of the Manch, warned tougher action would be announced next Friday if the government fails to take action against the responsible police personnel during the period.
The rally began at 3:00pm protesting the police attack on Ganojagoron Manch’s procession at Gulshan Circle No-2 on Thursday ended at 5:00pm.
The rally was addressed, among others, by Prof Muhammad Jafar Iqbal, Nasir Uddin Yusuf, Chhatra Moitree president Bappadittya Basu and Laki Akhter. The spokesman of Ganojagoron Manch Imran H Sarker was present at the rally.
Jafar Iqbal said the movement launched by Jahanara Imam started anew.
The movement is for our existence. We must win the movement,” he added.
About 20 activists of Ganojagoron Manch including its spokesman Imran H Sarker were injured in the police attack on Thursday while the processionists were trying to proceed on with a procession towards the Pakistan High Commission breaking the police barricade.
The Ganojagoron Manch organized the programme protesting the Pakistan National Assembly’s resolution protesting the execution of Jamaat leader Quader Mollah in Dhaka for committing crimes against humanity. – Staff Reporter
