Global media and info literacy confce underlines collaboration

Montego Bay, Jamaica – The sixth annual celebration of global media and information literacy (MIL) was held in West Indies university Mona, Kingston, Jamaica from 24-27 October last.Global MIL Weekand it’s feature events are testimonies to what is possible through cooperation and collaboration, when many stakeholders embrace a shared vision and combine their purposes, resources and efforts to ensure that change happens, says Mr. Alton Grizzle, Programme Specialist UNESCO Headquarters, Paris.

The theme of this year‘s conference, ‘Media and Information Literacy in Critical Times: Re-Imagong Ways of Learning and Information Environments’, provides a platform and opportunity for a wide range of provocative and and stimulating papers and presentations, as we engage with youth, academics, media and information researchers and practioners in varied types of sessions, says Dr. Paulette A Kerr, CAmpus Librarian, The University of West Indies, Mona. – From Monowara Begum Moni
