The injured police official of Lakhai Thana of the district died at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday.The deceased was identified as Kanchan Dev, 40, hailed form Moulvibazar district. He was serving as Sub-Inspector at Lakhai Thana of the district.
Sources said on August 10 two groups of Tegharia village under Lakhai upazila locked into clash over land dispute, leaving 25 people, including three police personnel, injured.
The injured police personnel are Officer-in-Charge Nazim Uddin, Sub-Inspector Kanchan Deb and Constable Mokhlesur Rahman.
Of the injured, Kanchan Dev was rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. Later, he died in capital’s National Heart Foundation Hospital on Wednesday.
