Hanif cautions BNP leaders: ‘Don’t use terrorists’ language’

Awami League leader Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif has asked leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to not make incendiary remarks.
“Do not use the language of terrorists. The Awami League knows how to wipe out terrorists. Do not create confusion among the people by making provocative statements,” he said at a book launching ceremony in Dhaka on Tuesday. The Awami League joint secretary general’s comments came in response to BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy’s statement.
On Monday, criticising AL presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim’s statement, Roy said that they did not want to repeat 1975, when Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with most of his family members were assassinated.
Hanif said on Tuesday that the BNP leaders would be tried as ‘possible conspirators’, if they continue with their incendiary speeches.
“Those who are trying to hatch a conspiracy like that of 1975 will be tried. Those who are making such statements will be charged for conspiring against the State,” said the ruling party leader.-bdnews24.com
