Hasina’s birthday programmes cancelled

Dhaka, Sept 27 (UNB) – Awami League and Bangladesh Chhatra League have cancelled their Wednesday’s scheduled programmes to observe the birth anniversary of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to show respect to late eminent litterateur Syed Shamsul Haq. UNB News Agency Reported.
“Both the organisations have cancelled their programmes at the directive of the Prime Minister to show respect to Syed Shamsul Haq,” PM’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil told UNB on phone on Tuesday night.
Wednesday is the 70th birthday of the Awami League Chief and Prime Minister.
As per the earlier schedule, BCL was supposed to bring out a joy procession in the morning while Awami League to arrange a discussion meeting.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now in the USA. She went there to attend the 71st UN General Assembly.
Syed Shamsul Haq passed away at United Hospitals in capital this aftaernoon at the age of 81.
