The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Sunday fixed January 27, 2016 for hearing on framing charges against 26 BNP leaders including the party’s Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Barrister Moudud Ahmed and Mirza Abbas in a case filed with Paltan Police Station for sabotage activities.Magistrate Mohammad Atiqur Rahman passed the order in response to a time petition filed on behalf of Mirza Fakhrul. His lawyer Joinal Abedin Mesba submitted the petition seeking time as Mirza Fakhul is busy with election related activities.
The First Information Report (FIR) of the case says that Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Mehedi Maksud filed the case against the accused for vandalism, arson attack and cocktail explosion on March 2, 2013 during the BNP-led alliance’s shutdown-blockade programme.
