Hefazat may postpone 15 Nov rally for Asura, Tablig Iztema

Hefazat-e-Islami Bangladesh, a qaumi madrasah based non-political
organisation, is likely to postpone its scheduled rally at Shapla
Square in the city on November 15, according to organisation sources.
The HIB is considering the holy Ashura on November 15 and Dhaka
district Tablig-e-Jamaat programme on November 14 to postpone its
programme, sources said adding that if the rally is postponed it would
be deferred for another day.
When contacted Dhaka city Hefazat leader Ahlullah Wasel, however, said
that no decision has yet been taken in this regard. “Decision in this
regard will be announced on Sunday,” he added.
It is learnt that the Hefazat leaders in a letter on November 5 sought
permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold the rally.
Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islami had announced the programme from Chittagong
divisional rally at Hathazari Parboti High School Ground on November 2
protesting the “government’s conspiracy” to control over qaumi
madrasah and demanding implementation of their 13-point demands.
