Islami Andolon Bangladesh on Friday said it would not take in the
forthcoming general election without a non-party poll-time
governement.
„We will not take part in a fake election under a political
governement. The election should be held under a non-party
governement,“ said Ameer of IAB Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim while
addressing a mammoth rally in Suhrawardi Uddayan.
He said the present Parliament must be dissolved before announcing the
election schedule.
The Peer of Charmonai termed the present Election Commission useless,
inefficient and disputed and said no acceptable election could be held
under this commsision.
The IAB Ameer called upon the President to take an effective initiaive
to resolve the political staslmate. Otherwise, he cautined that the
nation would plunge into a severe crisis.
He challenged that the Borguna by-poll was not held in anutral manner
and the ruling party people snached the victory of his party
candidate.
The Charmonair Peer announced a monthlong programmes inclduing holding
grand rally in Dhaka on December 13 demanding elimination of
terrorism-corruption, curb price hike of essentials and holding the
election under a non-party governement.
The programmes also include conducting mass contact at ward, union,
pourasabha and thana level from November 10 to 25, stage countrywide
demonstration on November 16, ulema rally at central level on November
27 and at district level from December 6 to 10.
Mufti Rezaul Karim called upon the party leaders and activists to
create public awarness in favour of good governance, human rights and
justice and against corruption and terrorism, preaching the beauty of
Islam and cast the vote for hand fan, the election symbol of IAB, in
the next elections.
He accused the present governement of creating political crisis by
scraping the caretaker governement system through the 15th amenment to
the constitution. „So, the ruling party has to take the inititiave to
resolve the political impasse,“ he added.
Criticising the oppostion BNP for enforcing hartal, he said many
parties enforced hartal to go to power but they didnot observe a
single hartal against corruption. Because, he said there is no
difference between Awami League and BNP in committing corruption and
plundering national wealth.

Hemayet Uddin, the rally was also, addressed, among others, by IAB
presidium members—Maulana Syed Mosaddeque Billah Al Madani, Mufti Syed
Md Foyzul Karim, Maulana Nurul Huda Foyezi, Dr Mokhtar Hossain, IAB
