Bangladesh Hindu Bouddha Christian Oikya Parishad thanked political parties on Friday for including the rights of the minorities in their manifestos.
Rana Dasgupta, the organisation’s general secretary, said almost all political parties had promised to address issues related to minorities.“We thank all parties for their commitments [they have made in their manifestos],” he told a press conference at the Jatiya Press Club.
Rana said they found ruling Awami League’s manifesto “more democratic, non-communal, and progressive” than the other parties.He said they were optimistic that whoever comes to power through the next national election would take steps to fulfill their promises.
