Improved teaching for quality education urged

Participants of a three-day long training workshop and seminar of religious teachers inaugurated on Saturday afternoon stressed on
improving teaching standard for quality education.The Diocesan Teachers Seminar programme was organised by the regional education commission under Barisal region of Chittagong Catholic Diocese in collaboration with ‘formation of youth and teacher’s programme (FYTP) at the Pastoral Retreat Center auditorium in Caritas Barisal.
Rev. Fr. Eugene Justine Anjus presided over the inauguration ceremony of the programme addressed among others by Dr. Mustafizur Rahman, deputy director secondary and higher education directorate Barisal office, Kazi Manowar Hossain, district education officer, Br. Harold Bijoy Rodrigues, secretary  Provincial-Congregation of Holy Cross Brothers, Bangladesh, Francis Bepari, regional director Caritas Barisal,  Sister Marry Sangeeta, headmaster Narikel Bari High School, Kotalipra and convener of the education commission, Sister M Archana, headmaster Saint Alfred High School Padrishibpur, R. Albert Ratna, acting Headmaster , Barisal Udayon School, Cyprian Mukul Biswas, Ghorarpar Dipti Bhavan primary school, Agoiljhara, Carlos Tapan Sarkar of FTYP, Edward Sumon, representative PRC.
A total of forty-five male and forty female teachers of Christian, Hindu, Muslim communities working at the 4 missionary schools under Barisal region participated in the three-day programme and discussed on ‘door of faith always open to all’ on occasion of ‘year of faith 2012-13’.
The 3-day programme included seminar, discussions on inter-religious relation and cooperation, development process of education,
educational quality, special sessions on human ethics and values, talk-shows, school based cultural performances, educational film and video presentations, educational tour among other things.
The speakers and participants of the programme marked that different types of education system developed and digitalized now a days to meet up demands of the modern age.  However modes of better teaching method for the learners yet to be standardized, the told.
It is not only the head of institution, but all teachers should be active jointly to develop human ethics and values in the in the
institution.
Special trainings are needed for adapting different types of learning procedures considering the types, merits and absorbing capacities of the learners, they said.
On teacher may have personal beliefs, but it should not create difference between religion, caste, colour or community in educational
institutions, they opined.
